2016 was a busy year, but I suppose it was no less busy than any other. It looked a lot different, trying out different styles in custom work, spending 6 days a month for 6 months in Amish country building a permanent outdoor installation (a first for me), and trying to focus on my stream of consciousness work. The streams come from all sorts of places, some not so great, but there's a always lesson to be learned. It's been a big year indeed, and I produced many of them out of it.
It was a turning point for me personally. I can say with confidence that I got past a lot of shit and feel like this year was a wrap, right to the core of it. I know its been a rough one for a lot of people, and the way I see it now, if only today, is that you've got one life to live and whatever is left is yours to do with as you please, so don't waste your time on the opinions of sheep, comparisons, and living in a tiny bubble. The Earth is a big place, much bigger than your small town, your little dramas, and your internal dialogue. Get out there and experience it, don't even document it, just be there in it.
In 2017, you can expect from me a whole new schedule. I plan to dedicate 7 days a month to custom work, 7 days to streams, and 7 days to fine art. In order to do all the things I want to do, I really have to plan right. I've got some great travels coming up, the stream of consciousness exhibit, and finally, a book. I have a mixed media series that's been in the works for a few years that I also plan to exhibit once and for all as well. So stick around, and I'll be sharing all that information as it comes together.
Thank you for checking in on me, I mostly appreciate the experience of connecting with anyone in my chair, anyone that feels connected to any of my work, hearing your story, and realizing together that our encounter is never an accident.
