Communion wafers made from shredded and pulped handwritten letters written to me by my mother over a period of twenty years, expressing her sadness, anger, and disappointments; projected at me, including my unsent responses to the letters, giving voice to the words I was afraid to say. Mother’s communion dress decorating a Valentine’s candy heart box, and hand stitched paper buttons also made from the letters.
