Homage To The Unknown Soldier:
Acrylic painting from photograph taken at Smithsonian Museum in Washington DC of the facial reconstruction of an unknown woman. An exhibit on forensics anthropology has a small collection of bust reconstructions made from information told in bones found of the first settlers of the Chesapeake Colonies. I was captivated by this woman who felt so real to me, I thought about her life, and what stories she could have told. I wanted to honor her for all of the stories that will never be known, and the creators that brought her into my awareness.
